About the Character:

Jack Sartorius, estranged son of Robert Sartorius grows up far from his father following his parents’ divorce then becomes a CIA agent assigned to counter-terrorism duties under the cover name of Jack McKinsey. After a terrorist cell blows up the charter plane carrying the US Olympic Team to London he is assigned to work there and across Europe and the Middle-East alongside British MI5/MI6 to investigate and root out the suspected terrorists. As a cover for his CIA activities he is employed as a top executive of Jung Communications, an international Public Relations, Media and Government Relations agency, which manages the PR account for the Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, headed by Jack’s father.  During the hot espionage and counter-terrorism action he also is caught up in a sultry sexual affair with international Rock Superstar singer Isis, and is later reconciled to his father.

In the second part of the novel, Book Two, and the movie Jack takes a central role as organizer of the Jerusalem Telethon for the UNPA, still working undercover as a CIA agent, during which he deals with a topsy-turvey love affair between Rai singer Khlorindah and Italian spy Orlando Tancredi. After the terrorist cell detonates a nuclear device in Jerusalem concealed in a visiting Chinese Terracotta Warrior he is captured with his father, former Presidents Clinton and Carter and others of the UNPA campaign by the terrorists who prove to be allied to a “New Triple Axis” conspiracy of China, Russia and Iran working to jointly seize the whole Middle-East oil reserves in a Pearl Harbor-like sneak attack to give a knockout blow to the declining West. The activists are then taken and held as “human shields” in the underground nuclear facilities of Iran, where they encounter the Supreme Leader.

When Jack leads their escape through the underground caverns, they are drawn into a neo-mythic dimension leading first to a Verne-like hollow earth and Central Sea, Middle Earth, where is played out a Crystal Bead Game tied to the destiny of human history. They also discover that the terrorist cell they have struggled against so long is headed by a Time Traveller, an escaped war criminal from the 23rd Century, Caesarion Khannis, who has transited back in time a la Terminator to our Present to manipulate all these events to change the course of world history and prevent the development of a peaceful world order from the first step of the United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, which if successful would allow him to impose a universal dictatorship in his century.  This impels them on an onward cosmic quest through a Galactic Wormhole to the center of the Milky Way Galaxy to the Council of the Immortals, where to save humanity from destruction they must plead humanity’s cause and retreive the Missing Seed Crystal, the Silmaril, from the Immortals. They are assisted in their desperate quest by the Magister Ludi (Master of the Game), another Time Traveller from the 23rd Century who has also been sent a la Terminator to pursue Khannis and return him to the International Criminal Court of his own century. With the Magister Ludi’s aid Jack and father and the cohort of heroes are successful and the Crystal Bead Game is resolved, resolving in turn the threatened World War III of the Triple Axis and nuclear armageddon on the surface of the planet.  During the Quest, however, Jack loses his father who, Moses-like dies before his dream of a  United Nations Parliamentary Assembly can be fulfilled, leaving it finally to Jack and the younger generation to complete its creation and usher in an era of global democracy at the close of the film.
